Why This Day Matters

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that unites millions of people each year to give, volunteer, and celebrate the power of community. It’s a day that stands in contrast to the consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, inviting us to give back and make an eternal impact.

For The House DC, Giving Tuesday is a moment to rally believers and friends around the mission to reach at-risk youth with the love of Christ through real relationships, nourishment, and guidance.

At The House DC, our mission is simple but powerful: to transform and empower at-risk youth, their families, and their neighborhoods by breaking cycles and building futures of hope through the love of Jesus.                                                             

The doors of The House DC remain open by the grace of God, and by the generosity of people like you! We are 100% supported by donors who believe in our mission and desire to see lives changed. Every day, we open our doors to teens facing violence, poverty, and hopelessness, and meet them with love, opportunity, and faith.                               

• Feed: We nourish both body and soul, offering hot meals, a safe place to belong, and spiritual care rooted in Christ’s love. 
• Lead: Through mentoring, discipleship, and pastoral guidance, we walk alongside youth as they discover purpose, identity, and faith that lasts.
• Equip: With academic support, job readiness, and life-skills development, we equip youth to thrive beyond high school and into adulthood.
